How the reaction test works
Click the panel (or press Space) to start. It turns grey and waits a random 1.2 to 4 seconds, then flashes red. Click the moment you see red. You play five rounds and your score is the average.
Clicking before the red, or faster than 100 ms, counts as a guess and the round restarts. Waiting longer than 2 seconds also restarts it, so every round you finish is a real reaction.
What is a good reaction time?
On simple "wait for the colour" tests like this one, most people average somewhere between 200 and 300 ms. Under 250 ms is quick; consistently under 200 ms is rare. Lower is better on this leaderboard.
Your setup changes the number
- A higher refresh rate shows the red sooner: a 144 Hz screen draws a new frame about every 7 ms, a 60 Hz one every 17 ms.
- Wired mice and keyboards usually add less delay than older wireless ones.
- Close heavy tabs and apps; a busy browser can delay the frame that shows the signal.
- Warm up your aim afterwards with the aim trainer.
