How the 10 second spacebar counter works
Ten seconds is the standard length: long enough to be fair, short enough to keep your top speed.
Click the box so it has focus, then start pressing space. The timer starts on your first press. Each press counts once: holding the key down sends repeats that the counter ignores, so only real taps score. Your best for each length is saved in this browser.
Tips for a higher score
- Tap with your thumb, or alternate two fingers, close to the middle of the bar.
- Short, light taps beat hard presses. You only need the key to bottom out briefly.
- On longer tests, pick a rhythm you can hold. Most people slow down after 10 seconds.
Other lengths and tests
If presses seem to go missing, check the key with the keyboard tester. Prefer the mouse? Try the CPS test.
